Recently, the eSmart Networks team attended Property Week’s Industrial & Logistics Conference at The Oval, joining developers, consultants and industry leaders to discuss the key challenges facing the industrial and logistics sector.
One topic came up time and again throughout the day: power. As demand for new industrial and logistics developments continues to grow, securing grid capacity is becoming an increasing challenge for projects across the UK. Many of the conversations we had focused on how developers can navigate grid constraints and bring schemes forward with greater certainty.
During the conference, our Grid Consultancy Director, Brian Moorhead, delivered a presentation titled Powering Growth. His session explored the challenges developers face when trying to secure power for new sites and outlined practical ways to overcome them, including how an ICP and IDNO led approach can help unlock grid connections and reduce delays.
It was great to catch up with industry experts and speak directly with developers and project teams about navigating grid capacity and supporting industrial and logistics projects from early planning through to connection.
